Ten Years of Shows and Our Website Finally Caught Up

Right, so. We've had a website since 2016. It was fine. It told you when our shows were and roughly what we did, and if you squinted it looked like a cat club had a website, which technically it was.

But it never really sounded like us. And after ten years of building shows we're genuinely proud of, that started to bother me.

So I rebuilt it. All of it. Every page, from scratch.

It took two months of evenings, an unreasonable number of cups of tea supplied by Emily, and at least one night where I sat staring at a single white line on a screen at midnight wondering what I'd done with my life. But it's done, it's live at felinology.co.uk, and there are bits of it I'm daft about.

A points tracker that does the sums for you

If you show with us, you can now keep track of your cat's points and titles without a spreadsheet that you inevitably break in October. Pop your results in after each show and it works out where you are and what you need next.

It's free, there's no sign-up, and nobody wants your email address. Open it and go.

Membership. Actually open, for the first time ever

Ten years and we've never done this. The Front Row is for the people who come to everything and know the judges by name. Exhibitor Membership is for the ones behind the benches at 7am with a grooming kit and a plan.

Partner discounts, priority pens, a spot in our breeder directory. That sort of thing.

Something for the kids

Clementine's Corner is for the children who turn up with a parent and leave more invested than anyone else in the family. There's cat facts, a matching game, and a printable guide to what on earth the judge is actually doing.

Under 12s already come free to our shows. Now there's something for them at home too.

Everyone who makes our shows what they are

Every partner, sponsor and special guest has their own page now. The treats people, the litter people, the photographers, the woman who makes cat furniture nicer than my actual furniture. They're the difference between a hall full of pens and a proper day out.

And the bits that matter to me

There's a page about Ava, who shows beautifully and happens to have a disability, and about why "perfect on paper" was never really the point.

There's the Junior Exhibitor stuff, because those kids are the whole future of this and we make an enormous fuss of them.

And there's our story, told properly for the first time. Two sisters, a lot of cats, and a stubborn refusal to run a boring show.

Have a wander round. If something's broken, tell me — I've looked at it so long I've stopped being able to see it.

Velvet Rebellion is 14 and 15 November at Leatherhead Leisure Centre. Come and say hello.
